How is BAföG calculated?

BAföG (Federal Training Assistance Act) supports students who cannot fully finance their education on their own. The amount depends on your needs, living situation, and your parents' income.

Basic Need 2026

475 Euro

The basic rate for students at universities and technical colleges.

Housing Allowance

+ 380 Euro

If you are not living with your parents, you receive an additional housing allowance.
