Short-time work benefit (Kurzarbeitergeld, KUG) compensates employees for temporary loss of working hours due to economic reasons or unavoidable events.

- 67% of the net wage difference (with children)

Target gross 3,500 €, actual gross 1,750 € (50% reduction):
- KUG without children: approx. 553 €
- KUG with children: approx. 617 €
- Total income: approx. 1,876–1,940 €
Duration
Standard duration: 12 months, extendable to 24 months by statutory order (as during the Covid pandemic).
